About Joy
Providing Quality Pet Care in Uniontown, PA
Joy, a proud Uniontown native, discovered her passion for dog care at a young age. She began by caring for family friends’ bird dogs—earning just a dollar a day—but even then, she knew working with animals was her calling.
After relocating out of state, Joy met a remarkable mentor who introduced her to animal rescue. She spent the next 15 years devoted to helping animals in need and developing her skills in professional pet care. With her mentor’s encouragement, Joy opened Joy’s Doggie Bed & Biscuit in Florida in 2004, offering high-quality dog boarding and day care services to her community.
Joy brought Joy’s Doggie Bed & Biscuit back to her hometown after 18+ years away to provide trusted, compassionate dog boarding in Uniontown and safe, engaging doggie daycare in Uniontown. Her goal is to offer local pet parents peace of mind by creating a place where dogs (and cats!) are loved, cared for, and treated like family—whether they’re staying for the day or overnight.
At Joy’s Doggie Bed & Biscuit, your dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness come first because big or small, we care for ‘em all!

"The Dane Girl"
Great Dane Care & Dog Boarding in Uniontown, PA
While Joy cares for dogs of all shapes and sizes, her breed of choice is the Great Dane. In addition to having several Great Danes of her own over the years, Joy spent two years volunteering with the Allegheny County Great Dane Association, further deepening her expertise in caring for the breed she loves most. Her hands-on experience and genuine passion have made her well known for providing exceptional care for this gentle, giant breed.
Because of their size and common health issues like bloat and joint problems, many facilities won’t accept them—but Joy will. Her deep understanding and experience with Great Danes have earned her the nickname "The Dane Girl," and she continues to receive referrals from fellow pet professionals and grateful clients alike.
At Joy’s Doggie Bed & Biscuit every dog is welcomed with open arms and treated like family, especially the ones who need a little extra care.
